Finding out that twins, triplets or even quadruplets are expected can be exciting for the parents. But it may also bring in worries and raise concerns for the couple and their family members. It is important that the family is prepared for the challenges that can occur during pregnancy and after the babies birth.
With this in mind, Fernandez Hospital's team of doctors from various disciplines organised an event on multiple births on 1st July at Stork Home, Banjara hills. The faculty comprised Dr Suseela Vavilala, Dr Latha Sashi, Dr Kausar Shaik, Dr Hemasree Kandraju and Dr Latha D Balasundaram. Around 30 couples expecting twins / triplets attended the event.
The aim of this event was to interact with couples and advise them on diet, exercise and to bring awareness and motivate them about breastfeeding during pregnancy. This session also aimed at providing psychological support to the couples who were preparing for the 'special event' of multiple births.
