Water Birth Workshop by UK Midwives Generates Keen Interest

Two British Midwives facilitated a Water Birth Workshop for interested mothers at Stork Home, the Fernandez Hospital unit at Banjara Hills. The session was well received by the sizable number of couples who attended. They were very appreciative of Dr. Evita Fernandez bringing the Water Birth concept to the Twin Cities. After reading about it on the Net, many found the practical session by the two midwives very informative and conducive enough to opt for a water birth.
There was also a lot of interest expressed in using hydrotherapy for pain relief and water for birth. Many of the Dads seemed convinced and expressed an interest and willingness to support their partners to use water in labour. The couples also had the opportunity to tour the Stork Home unit and see the excellent facilities available for their labour and the choices of pools in the unit.
