Breast cancer is the second most common cancer in women in India. Mammography, X ray of the breasts with low dose exposure, is the best possible screening test for breast disease. The recommendation is that all women over 40 years should have a mammogram every 1-2 years.
In its commitment to women’s health, Fernandez Hospital started a breast clinic; headed by Dr. Y. Srinivas, a surgeon, who ran a successful breast clinic in UK for several years. The team includes a consultant radiologist (mammography and ultrasonography of the breast) and a consultant oncologist. Mammography is done with prior appointment only.
