A clinical breast examination (CBE) is a physical examination of the breast done by a health professional. These examinations are used to check for breast cancer and other breast problems.
A mammogram is essentially an X-ray of your breasts. The mammogram is generally done with you standing up. Each breast is compressed between two X-ray plates for only a few minutes. It is advisable that women over 40 years have a mammogram done on a regular basis.
An ultrasound scan of the breast uses the same technique as an ultrasound scan that women have when they are pregnant. High-frequency sound waves allow them to produce an image of the breast.
