Dr Aswad is a dedicated neonatologist with over six years of experience in Neonatology and Paediatrics, specialising in the care of critically ill newborns and children. He currently serves as a Consultant Neonatologist at Fernandez Hospital, Hyderabad, a leading centre for maternal and neonatal care. He has strengthened his expertise through advanced qualifications, including a Fellowship in Neonatology (FIAP), a Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatric Nutrition (PGPN) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Developmental Neurology (PGDDN). A certified NRP Trainer of Trainers (NRP-TOT), Dr Aswad plays an active role in neonatal resuscitation training and skill development programmes. His commitment to quality improvement was recognised with a Gold Medal Award for an initiative aimed at reducing painful procedures in very low birth weight (VLBW) neonates. He has published research in reputed peer-reviewed journals and presented award-winning scientific papers at national paediatric and neonatology conferences. In addition to his clinical work, Dr Aswad is deeply involved in medical education, serving as a mentor to undergraduate students, postgraduate residents, fellowship trainees and DrNB Neonatology candidates, while also contributing as a Course Coordinator for NRP programmes and co-guide for neonatology fellowship research projects.
