Dr Spurthy is a Visiting Consultant in Fetal Medicine with extensive experience in high-risk obstetrics and advanced prenatal imaging. She completed her MBBS and MS in Obstetrics and Gynaecology from Gandhi Medical College, Hyderabad, where she graduated as a Gold Medalist in both MBBS and her postgraduate training. She further pursued a Fellowship in Fetal Medicine from the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences (KNRUHS).
Her clinical expertise includes fetal anomaly screening, detailed anomaly scans, first-trimester screening and risk assessment, advanced obstetric ultrasonography, fetal echocardiography, and Doppler studies including uterine, umbilical, and middle cerebral artery (MCA) Doppler. Dr Spurthy has a special interest in the management of high-risk pregnancies, including fetal growth restriction, multiple pregnancies, and assessment of preterm birth risk, with a focus on early detection and timely intervention.
Dr Spurthy has presented and published research on important maternal and fetal health topics, including maternal near-miss events, obstetric acute kidney injury, and peripartum hysterectomy. Through her clinical work and academic contributions, she remains committed to advancing maternal–fetal care and improving pregnancy outcomes through evidence-based practice.
