Dr Tarakeswari is Head of the Department of Obstetric Medicine at Fernandez Hospital, Unit 2 at Hyderguda. She is an alumnus of Rangaraya Medical College, Kakinada and obtained her MD from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal in 1993. She joined Fernandez Hospital in 1995 and set up the High Risk Pregnancy, Pre-pregnancy and Recurrent Pregnancy Losses Clinics in 2001 and the Obstetric Medicine Department in 2007, all of which she runs. She is a much sought after consultant because of her vast experience in complicated pregnancies. Dr. Tarakeswari conducts regular teaching sessions for post graduates, guides their thesis and conducts clinical meetings. Her areas of interest are Medical Disorders Complicating Pregnancy and Pre Conception Counselling. Dr. Tarakeswari has been invited as the DNB Inspector and as faculty at various national and international conferences.  She has several publications to her credit.
